Seekarspitze – 2053 m

The Tyrolean Lofoten. Seekarspitze is a stunning ski tour above the lake Achensee.
Unfortunately, Winter have been poor in snow and it is becoming a sad trend. We anyway decided to give it a go as it is an beautiful hike with amazing views. Snow conditions were ugly but we enjoyed this feeling of “tyrolean Lofoten”.

Quick Facts: Start from Achenkirch (950m), 1100m vertical, Expo. NO/O

Der Schlund

I thought Winter was over.
But May has been pretty snowy so far, so I decided to take the skis out for last adventure.
I called my friend Matthy (My Wedding translator !) to go check out some cool lines in the Zillertal Valley.
We headed up very early to the Hintertux Glacier and found 2 super nice steep couloirs on each sides of the Glacier. We started off with a steep East couloir and finished off with a super sick long and very steep North Couloir. We were having a good Beer by 12H !

Now let’s go Summer and let’s go biking !

Glockturm – 3355 m

on 16.04.16, Eva and myself got married !
After a few days celebrating with our families, we needed to get back to our beloved mountains of Tirol to find the quietness we love so much.
Spring has been delivering some excellent conditions in Tirol and we decided to drive to Kaunertal, where you can drive pretty high and reach some high peaks and excellent snow conditions.
The Glockturm in Kaunertal is an easy tour up a mellow valley until a final rock tower, mellow on the east face and abrupt like a wall on its West side.
I took the Hexo+ Drone with me to get a nice aerial view of this spectacular view…

Seefelder Spitze 2220m

The Seefelder Spitze is pretty much situated in our garden. We see it every day from our kitchen. When the tourism office asked Eva to go to the top to bring a new “Gipfelbuch”, we accepted easily as its only a short hike from the Seefelderjoch and there are always splendid views over the village. After a busy day in Innsbruck, shopping and doing other things we headed up there at around 4pm with a nice spring light, so I decided to take the Drone out for a flight.

LOFOTEN – Day 8 – Torksmannen

Let’s finish off the trip with a good old classic, simple, straight and fun. Torksmannen is another one of those cool peak where you ascent straight under the summit, you have a super cool summit ridge at the top with stunning views above the Ocean and some super fun skiing on the way down, some 20cm of fresh powder in some playful terrain to cheer us up.

We spent our afternoon packing our stuff and drove late to the Evenes airport where we slept on the benches until our early morning flight at 6am —-> back to Tirol !

Lofoten are definitely a must-go destination for any nature lover, hiker, skier, surfer, fisher, there is just something unique about it. As a Skier, I found a place with an incredible potential and after doing mostly classic tours from the book, I want to come back again, without a touring book and explore some more of those stunning Islands.
