Early April, we planned to spend some time ski mountaineering in Chamonix but the conditions were not good over there. We decided to spend a couple of nights in the Heidelberger Hütte above Ischgl and do some tours around it. One Day one, we combined the beautiful Piz Tasna (3179m) and its steep north couloir, then skinned up again to Piz Davo Lais (3031m) and its beautiful north face too.
On Day 2 we went up to Piz Montana (2928m) and skied out all the way down to Ischgl.
Since they built a Cable Car to the top of Piz Val Gronda, there is no need to hike to the hut. It is now an easy way to access some of the nicest 3000m peaks around this beautiful region boring Italy, Switzerland and Austria.
